Episode 10: Survivor

SPOILERS AHEAD

SYNOPSIS:

Megatron's drone fails in yet another attempt to purge Megatron of his beast form.
The drone recommends studying Nightscream.  After attempting to study nightscream,
the maximals return to Nightscream's old hang-out in an attempt to replant the
fruit tree (see Ep 5 "Forbidden Fruit").  Nightscream shows off by using his sonic
attack to open the sealed cavern but tip off their location to the Vehicons.

The Vehicons capture Nightscream.  While they are carrying him back, Nightscream
manages to drain the drone and blow up the chamber they were imprisoning him.
Nightscream enjoys being alone until Thrust and Jetstorm catch up with him.

Rattrap uses his visor to scan for Nightscream.  Tankorr (with the Evil Rhinox
now controlling him) reprograms the drone.
The Maximals botch their rescue and trap Nightscream and Primal in a deep pit
with Thrust and Jetstorm in pursuit.  The pit leads to the cavern he got his
beast form from -- a skeleton of a bat is on the wall.  Nightscream really blasts
the Vehicons and the walls give way revealing a larger cave with skeletal
remains of organic animals.

Primal leaves the fruit tree seed in this cave in hopes of fulfilling the
Oracle's words "The seeds of the future lie buried in the past."

According to Rhinox/Tankorr's plan, the latest attempt to purge Megatron of
his "mongrel beast form" fails.  The drone accuses Megatron of subconsciously
wanting to keep his beast form.


DESIGN NOTES:

Nightscream's sonic scream is not only very powerful but it is visually
impressive as they distort the Vehicons caught in the blast.


IMPRESSIONS:

Blackarachnia is still trying to reach out to Thrust.
Rhinox's intent to overthrow Megatron is finally revealed.
He believes only a truely mechanical Transformer can rule a robotic Cybertron.

How many want a planet of Animorphs anyway?  I hope Primal is misinterpreting
what the Oracles been revealing to him.  Who says a "natural state" is better
than the state Cybertron is in?  Who says an organic Cyberton is better than
a robotic one?
